Frequently Asked Questions
What types of projects do you typically work on?
I specialise in cloud architecture (particularly AWS), DevOps implementation, infrastructure automation, and security optimisation. Typical projects include cloud migration and modernisation (especially SAP to AWS), Infrastructure as Code with Terraform, multi-account AWS architecture design, and security & compliance for regulated industries.
How do you structure your engagements?
Project-based: defined scope, timeline, and deliverables with clear milestones. Consulting: hourly or daily rates for advisory services. Retainer: ongoing support for a set number of hours per month. Each engagement begins with a discovery phase to understand your requirements before proposing a solution.
Do you work remotely or on-site?
I work primarily remotely, which allows me to serve clients globally from my base in South Africa. For clients who require on-site presence, this can be discussed and arranged for specific project phases.
How do you approach knowledge transfer?
Knowledge transfer is a critical component of all my engagements. I ensure your team can maintain and extend the solutions through comprehensive documentation, training sessions and workshops, pairing and mentoring with your team members, recorded walkthrough sessions, and a post-implementation support period.
What is your typical response time?
I typically respond to initial enquiries within 24 hours. For ongoing projects, I maintain regular communication schedules as agreed with clients — usually daily or weekly status updates depending on project needs.
